Scarlet Letter Band

posted Oct 09, 2011 | by Katherine Narigon

Scarlet Letter is: Aubrey Bohl – Vocals/Guitar, Art Diaz – Guitar, Ty Ford – Bass

Scarlet Letter derived their name not only from the classic by Nathanial Hawthorne in a metaphorical sense, but also from the Word of God in a literal sense. In Hawthorne’s tale, a young Hester Prynne is ridiculed for committing adultery, and because she won’t reveal the father of her illegitimate child, she is forced to wear a scarlet “A” on her chest so that all may know of the wrong she has done. The story of man is not much different than Hester’s, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

However, the band’s aim is to tell the best part of the story: God’s unending love. Because God sent his son, Jesus, to die for our sins, we no longer have to wear our imaginary scarlet letters that label us as sinners. God tells us in Isaiah 1:18 “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.” Through Jesus, all of our sins are wiped clean, and we are made new. This is why Scarlet Letter tours the country, playing music over 200 dates a year; to give this generation’s youth the answer that they are so desperately seeking.

Sponsor a Child!

posted Dec 16, 2010 | by Katherine Narigon

This Christmas, The Ideal Weigh is partnering with Mission Haiti to give you the opportunity to sponsor a child!

Visit their site here: Mission-Haiti.org

For ONLY $50 a year, you can sponsor a child in Elementary School. Education is vital to change these children’s lives, yet for hundreds of kids in the village of Ti-Riviere, education is beyond reach.
Sponsoring a child provides more than the satisfaction you will receive from knowing you carried out what Jesus spoke of in Matthew 10:42 …..”and if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.”

By sponsoring a child for school:

  • they will hear the Good News of Jesus Christ every day
  • you help improve the health of a child-they will receive a hot meal once a day in school and also get dewormed once every 6 months
  • they will be on the list to receive donated shoes, backpacks and school supplies
  • you give a child hope for their future

Please consider sponsoring a child from Haiti. They are looking forward to your help!
If you are not able to sponsor a child and would still like to help, below is Mission Haiti’s wish list for the Holiday season! If you would like to donate any of these items, you may leave them in the decorated boxed under the tree outside of our office!

Scarlet Letter Band

posted Dec 09, 2009 | by Katherine Narigon

Scarlet Letter is a ministry-focused Christian rock band from Sioux Falls, SD.

Having just started playing together in the fall of 2009, their combined musical talents and mission-focused hearts have led them to open for Remedy Drive, travel to Haiti in April 2010, book summer festivals and tours, lead worship and put on concerts for Sioux Falls and surrounding towns, and have opened future doors for their growing reputation in the Christian music industry.

This summer Scarlet Letter will be leaving on a 5 week tour beginning with a musical festival in Rapid City, SD. From there they will lead worship for a group serving for a week in Bozeman, MT and then will spend the rest of July and the first two weeks of August in Washington, California, and Nevada. August 20th they will be heading on another tour with two other ministry focused bands – Willet and A New Awakening.

Scarlet Letter is also planning on heading to Haiti again for the month of November to serve with the founders of Mission-Haiti. If you want to learn more about how to help support Scarlet Letter and their ministry, please send them an email. Also, you could become a fan through the Scarlet Letter Facebook page and keep up to date with all the latest happenings.
